A city-centre former office building was being converted by Study Inn into student accommodation. This tricky city-centre location included a rooftop extension and a complete refurbishment of the building to complete the change of use from office block to modern student accommodation comprising 288 accommodation units.
LW Liftings have worked for us on multiple schemes. They have managed all of our logistical requirements to busy inner city construction projects, utilizing daily lane closures and managing out of hours operations where required. Nothing is too much trouble for Lee’s team, the job just gets done in a safe and controlled manner. We will not hesitate in using Lee and team on future projects.
LW Liftings were approached by Study Inn to assist with a range of site logistics for the conversion of this sizeable city-centre site into student accommodation. Due to the nature of the site, and the city-centre location, the logistics was quite an undertaking.
LW Liftings provided a wide range of construction logistics including providing telescopic forklift drivers which were pivotal in speedy unloading of supplies and site services. An extensive traffic management plan and implementation were put in place to ensure the surrounding area was not impacted more than necessary, whilst facilitating the smooth flow of site deliveries.
LW Liftings also provided other solutions for the client, including slinger signallers, to assist the extensive crane operations and assist with the installation of essential site facilities including workmen toilet and staffing facilities.
There is no doubt this was a challenging project; however it was met head-on by LW Liftings, and the result was a project delivered on the budget to a high spec with minimal issues for the client.
